The Do's and Don'ts of Pregnancy

Posted on 19 November 2017

Whether it’s your first or third pregnancy, chances are going to have some questions about what’s safe and what’s not during pregnancy.

The first three months of your pregnancy is very crucial. During this phase, your baby’s major organs develop and your body undergoes a lot of physiological changes to gear up for a healthy pregnancy and a smooth labor, eventually.

Here is how you can ensure both fetal and maternal well-being by simply following these basic dos and don’ts during your first trimester:

What you should do:

  • Do Take a Multivitamin
  • Do Get Lots of Sleep
  • DO stay hydrated
  • Be regular with your iron and folic acid pills
  • Be regular with prenatal appointments
  • Ensure a healthy weight gain
  •  Do Get a Flu Shot

What you should not do:

  • Don’t do intense activities
  • Don’t take over-the-counter medications. Always ask your doctor before you pop those pills.
  • Don’t drink too much caffeine.
  • Don’t Drink Alcohol
  • Don’t Smoke
  • Don’t Sit in a Hot Tub or Sauna: research suggests that using one of these during your first trimester may double your risk of miscarriage.

During pregnancy, the best way to do is always consult your doctor if you have some questions about what’s safe for you and for your baby.

Always remember that the doctor knows everything what the best for you!
